Now for some history

According to the legend, Partenope was the mermaid who tried charming Ulysses and his seamen with her soave voice. She didn’t succeed and killed herself. her body was found by some fishermen along the bank of the small isle of Megaride.
At that moment Partenope began a cult and one of the protector, of Naples.
The historical origins of the city of Naples go back at the V century B.C. with the Greeks, in the 326 b.C it was declared a Roman Colony but along the course of time the city was under the reign of various dinasties like: Normanni, Svevi Angioini and Aragonesi at the end. In the year 1734, The Borbone took the the Kingdom of Naples up to the 1860, year of the Italian Unification.
